Scandinavian Vikings culture
Vikings were pagans and the era when they were living is known as Viking age, which lasted for more than 300 years. Abroad the Vikings were known as fearless pirates, but at home they lived in a society well organized and based on laws and democracy. The Vikings were very talented people. They were poets, artists, painters and craftsmen. Another interesting Scandinavian Culture Fact is that no women were forced to get married. The women had a strong position in the Viking Society and they responsible for the farm and all environment when their men were abroad. A powerful housewife was symbolized with keys and if her husband took off her keys, she had the right to divorce him immediately.
