Altona Esnoga
From Safon.org
The Altona Esnoga was built after the permission had been granted by King Christian VII of Denmark on the 22 March, 1771. It was inaugurated on 6 September the same year. The synagogue, which was situated in the back yard of Bäckerstraße 12–14 (the current Hoheschulstraße), was used by the Sefardím of Altona until it was dissolved in 1882. The building was sold to the High German-Israelite congregation in Altona in 1887. In 1940, the building was expropriated to Hamburg and demolished.
